Chris Cernak is a passionate and introspective singer/songwriter from upstate NY who has always prided himself on being just a little bit different than your stereotypical acoustic artist. The terms “refreshing” and “energetic” have been used to describe him by many bar and club owners, as well as their patrons through the years. After having to bow out of the music world in late 2006 Chris is back with a new album, and a renewed passion for the career that was once a dream come true. With a live show that is as varied as the venues he plays he fits into almost any musical situation with ease.
Wanting to completely contrast the sound of the dark and rowdy bar rooms he had lived and played in for so many years Chris released ‘Down The Road’ in February 2011 which is a journey into his softer side both emotionally and sonically. With a successful month long summer tour spanning NY, PA, OH, KY, TN, NC, VA, WV, DC, and VT now under his belt Chris is back to gigging regularly in his local area and poised for a few short tours over the winter and spring of 2012. Another longer and more extensive tour will follow again in the summer as Chris reaches out to new markets and returns to the areas that have treated him so well. “To be able to do this again is truly a dream come true”. Chris has said on so many occasions. When asked about his favorite place(s) to be Chris responds “There are three… home with my family, the neighborhood I grew up in, and the road.”
